KitchenAid is the latest brand to accidentally tweet a personal comment through the brand account. During the U.S. Presidential Debate last night, President Obama made mention of his deceased grandmother. Immediately after, KitchenAid released a tweet stating, “Obamas gma even knew it was going 2 b bad! ‘She died 3 days b4 he became president’. #nbcpolitics,” to over 24,000 followers. The tweet was immediately removed and the tweet was attributed to the brand’s community manager mistakenly posting to the brand account instead of their personal account. The brand took to Twitter to apologize to both the community and the Obama family, although they continued to receive both negative and positive reactions from their fans throughout the evening.
