Kellogg’s cereal maker is the first ever to open a Tweet Shop that uses social as currency. The brand opened the retail outlet in central London called “The Tweet Shop” to promote it’s move to the chip market. The retail outlet lets the consumer pay, not by cash or credit, but by tweet. When the consumer buys a packet of Special K Cracker Crisps, they must tweet a message about the product. The staff of the shop then checks the tweet before giving the consumer the Special K Cracker Crisps. The brand’s innovative social media integration is a great way to launch the new product and introduce the brand in a new market. To learn more about the Tweet Shop, click here.
