With online holiday shopping becoming increasingly more prevalent each holiday season, the in-store shopping experience has began a transition into a thing of the past.

Toys”R”Us is trying to counteract this by increasing the in-store experience with their “Store Full of Awesome” campaign. On November 5, the children’s toy store chain provided No-Wait professional Santa photos as well as in-store toy testing sites for families to come and enjoy.

By simply emailing a participating store to set up an appointment for your family’s “Pictures with Santa”, those traumatizing hours-long lines at the mall were no longer parents’ living nightmares. You were in and out in the blink of an eye. As an added bonus, the portraits were competitively priced at $29.99 – making the experience truly as painless, and enjoyable, as possible. In addition, Toys”R”Us hosted promotional toy-testing demonstrations with some of the predicted holiday’s top-sellers. The idea behind it? Give the children, and parents, the opportunity to uniquely interact with some of the toys sure to be the leaders on children’s Wish Lists this year. The store also provided raffles, make and take activities for children, as well as giveaways. But the holiday joy didn’t stop there – for new parents celebrating their baby’s first holiday season, the Babies”R”Us chain hosted “Babies First Christmas” events. Parents could design tacky christmas sweaters, take photos in front of a winter backdrop as well as search around the “Baby’s First Christmas” section, which had infant holiday apparel, keepsakes and more.

With the holiday-buildup becoming more and more digital to ease the pain of shopping, Toy”R”Us provided consumers with the opportunity to keep the holiday-spirit alive while still keeping the pain of in-store shopping to a minimum.
