The popular HBO show Games of Thrones has become an internet favorite over the course of its four seasons, and it turns out that even Google Maps is a fan. Recently, the web mapping service has hidden a GoT easter egg in the Welsh countryside for users to stumble upon. Searching for directions from Snowdon (the highest mountain in Wales) to Brecon Beacons will allow the option for another, faster mode of transportation: travel by dragon. The 122-mile trip apparently only takes 21 minutes when traversed on the back of the mythical creature, quite an improvement from the three and a half hours it would take in a boring car. Wales seems to be a fitting place for the ride to be arranged, as a bright red dragon adorns its country’s flag. The tech giant’s nod to popular ‘nerd’ culture is only one in a long line of quirky easter eggs, ranging from Doctor Who to Lord of the Rings. Read more about the story here.
